The finely built instrument with a detachable glazed brass cover on a slate base mounted on three adjustable brass pillars over a purpose built mahogany stand. The cover has a hinged front for access to the instrument, the centre nob is for raising and lowering the balance. Date late Victorian. Size balance only: 47 cm x 19 cm x 14 cm high Base 61 cm x 29 x 43 cm high (to the top of the balance.
