Italian weather forcaster in the form of a monk that indicates the weather by moving his arm with a rod pointer to indicate the weather. In good weather his arm points upwards and his hood is down. As the weather deteriorates his arm decends and his hood rises to cover his head so that when it is raining his head is covered! Made of printed cardboard in an original glased case. It can be adjusted like any hydrometer with a key at the rear - key supplied. late nineteenth century. Transport included.
