Anemometer by Richard of Paris Anemometer by Richard of Paris

Description:

Very interesting anemometer, of a type I have never previously seen by Richard of Paris. The nickle plated instrument is contained in a velvet lined fitted box, lid damaged. The vanes engage with an endless screw which turns an eccentric can on the top of the instrument which operates a make and break connection which when connected to the light bulb,a torch lamp powered by a small battery causes the lamp to flash periodically. The speed of flashing indicates the wind speed. This delightful instrument would allow you to monitor the wind speed from the comfort of your armchair! I believe it dates from about the beginning of this century. Excellent working order and simple to operate. 8" long.
