Barometer by Hicks note the three concentric scales

Description:

Extra accurate meteorological anaroid barometer by J.Hicks, 8,9 & 10 Hatton Garden, London using the Watkin Patent This anaroid barometer uses three revolutions to cover the barometric pressure change from 27" - 31". On the engraved silvered dial below "London" is a square window which shows the roman numerals I, II and III to indicate which of the three circular dials should be read to give the correct atmospheric pressure. Very fine anaroid barometers of this type are usually only found in meteorology stations and tend to look rather "industrial", so it is a nice change to find one with a mahogany surround for a change. This barometer is engraved No 85 Dial diameter 6.5" overall diameter 9.5"
