Description:

"Rob Roy" the film was made in 1995 starring Liam Neeson as Rob Roy and Jessica Lange as his lady. Both costumes are included in this sale along with a number of furnishings which were of such fine quality that they were used until recently in the Gleneagles Hotel which is generally rated as one of the world's great five star hotels. The furniture, all made in oak comprises a massive double four poster bed, (with mattress and top hanging cover, not shown on the picture of the bed), 3 wardrobes of various sizes,3 TV/drinks cupboards,1 antique sideboard, (late eighteenth or early nineteenth century), one extending dining table with six matching upright chairs with tartan seats, one three seater Knowle settee and one two seater Knowle settee both with tartan upholstery,one small table, two matching green upholstered armchairs with two matching upholstered stools.The props, (not all used in the film, some were added to furnish the rooms in the Gleneagles Hotel later), comprise three kists,(chests)of various ages, seventeen framed prints,portrait engravings and landscapes, five wall mirrors,four iron standard lamps, six table lamps, a pair of candlesticks on turned wood bases, three iron candle sticks, a pair of double candle wall sconces,a cutlery tray a steel dish, two folding screens, nine leather bound law volumes eighteenth century and eleven framed photos of the stars and production team.
