Catalogue number #124697518
Portable X-ray and Electro Theraputic Apparatus by Harry W. Cox Ltd, 1a Rosebury Avenue, London circa 1910 contained in a mahogany box with brass lifting handles at both ends complete with original key. On opening the right end flap hinges down to allow access to the terminals, switch and adjustments to the vibrator arm for regulating the primary spark gap. The box is 25.5" (65 cm) x 10.25" (26 cm) deep x 12" (31 cm) high. The induction spark coil is in great working order see image (I've no idea why my camera sees the brilliant white electric arcs as blue!). Harry W. Cox trade plate on front, distributer's trade plate "Electradix trademark Leslie Dixon & Co, London" on the inside of the lid. Also included an X-ray tube, possibly original to the equipment (they certainly came together) marked "Original Muller Röntgenröhre No. 67933 Made in Germany" length 13.5" (34.5 cm.) These portable X-ray sets by Harry W. Cox were used extensively during WWI but despite years of hunting this is only the second (and best) example I have ever found to buy. Obviously well used but in really super condition for its age. You can have enormous fun with this photographing the insides of your cat or running Geisler tubes, spark transmitters etc. Transport extra to be arranged at cost - all packing/crating is done here on site and delivery in good order is guaranteed (but our own insurance backs it up - just in case).
