Description:

Spectacular iron 'food processor' with brass decoration, 'contains' six functions, coconut scraper, folding knife, cheese grater, nutmeg grater and folding out from the underneath with folding legs a vegetable crinckle cutter and a straight cutter. This piece is of Spanish or Portuguese origin as shown by the Moorish influence in the brass decoration. It may well be seventeenth century as the legs bear a strong resemblance to those on the early iron frame clocks of this period. The elongated ring is for hanging it on the wall when not in use. The wood handle is not original but must have been on a long time judging from the internal wear. This is a magnificent piece, I've personally never seen another piece remotely like it before. Base between feet 8.5" (215 mm) x 11.3" (290 mm) Handle length 14" (360 mm)Height just over 4" (115 mm)Price includes delivery.
