Description:

Very early electro-medical apparatus invented by the Reverend Francis Lockey circa 1850. This early piece of electro therapy uses the usual coil but adjusts the current by the use of a glass cylinder filled with water (and salt?) by raising and lowering the brass plunger. I haven't tested it! I read an article about it in the Philosophical Review by George Gore (scientist, Birmingham, England) from the 1850s some years ago but pending another trip to the National Library here cannot supply the precise reference as I write. Have any of my readers ever seen another example? Approximately 7" high. Price includes delivery around the world.
