I am selling a very rare 'one-off' collection of four fetal dolls from the Obstetrical museum in Edinburgh. The collection was started when James Simpson (discoverer of Chloroform)was professor of Obstetrics and Midwifery in the late 1840s. Doll No 4 has a soft leather covered body with an umbilical cord and a hard wood(?) head with glass eyes. This doll dates from the first half of the twentieth century 21" (53 cm)
