Orrery by Salter stamped with trademark on the circumference edge and cast in the centre ring "Parkes and Hadley's Patent Orrery". Made in cast brass with a black and gold painted cast iron base with a good twelve paper gore covered globe and a composition moon with a candle as the sun in the centre. The mechanism is driven by pushing the handle under the cast brass plate which causes the earth to revolve and move round the cast plate whilst the moon revolves around the earth. Plate diameter 9¾" (24.5 cm)height from base to top of globe 9" (23 cm) globe diameter 3" (7.5 cm) working order circa 1900. Price includes delivery
