Description:

Magnificent Art Nouveau glass panel screen consisting of fifteen panels which were removed from a period house in Edinburgh. The colours are fired on to thick 8 mm glass and are therefore impervious to ultra violet light and water. They date from the 1890s and were probably of Viennese manufacture. Originally they were set in a metal frame with about a quarter inch separation. I bought them some years ago with the idea of using them in my own house but have failed to find a suitable location so (with some reluctance), I am offering them for sale. The true colours are shown in the photo I took of one of the panels outside in the daylight, the second panel was taken with a white paper backing. The pictures of the groups of panels are taken from the photos supplied with the panels when I bought them. Sadly they are somewhat dull and do not show the colour depth but they do show the full extent of the designs. The panels can be put together in a variety of combinations but as laid out the large rectangle is 84" x 60". Six 'extra' sheets are shown in a second image. The large individual sheets are 16.625" x 43.25" and the small individual sheets are 18.25" x 16.625" The edges are dirty from the frames but can be easily cleaned the condition is otherwise as new.
