Description:

Large Geissler or Crookes' flower tube on wood stand probably nineteenth century. Very difficult to photograph in use to show it 'as seen' because the flower is an intense bright red compared to the other paler colours in the tube and my camera over-exposes the flower giving it a white appearance in consequence. The reflection of the flower in the glass actually gives a better - though not correct - idea of the colour. The last photo was taken wuth the tube working in the dark using a flash the result as you can see is to dispell the green and blue colours leaving just verty pale crimson flower. Well I tried! It is very beautiful 'in the flesh'. Size 11¾" (295 mm) diameter 1.¼" (32 mm) Fully insured at no extra cost delivery extra at cost.
