Early eighteenth century Italian single draw monocular signed Ramoni Roma on the bevelled rim of the glass eyepiece, (very difficult to photograph but easy to read!)Shagreen, leather and ebony with silver mounts. The condition of the lenses is exceptional with no significant scratching. Drawer slightly loose. The style of the leather tooling indicates a date in the first half of the eighteenth century possibly in the first quarter. Closed 2.9" (74 mm) maximum diameter at end 1.9" (48 mm)
