Magnetic Pole Rotation Motor 1 Magnetic Pole Rotation Electric Motor 2

Description:

Demonstration electric motor of one of the first electric motors devised in the 1820s I think this is called a 'Magnetic Pole Rotation Apparatus" but I would be happy to be corrected by my more erudite customers if I am wrong! Mercury is placed in the hollow wood ring to operate it (I haven't tested it myself). I would date this piece circa 1900. Height 12" (30 cm) wood base diameter 5.75" (14.5 cm)
