Catalogue number #619382737
Like a small confessional the Pathé-Salon model Nº11 was the grandest of the two tall enclosed horn gramophone cabinets marketed by Pathé circa 1910. With bun feet, turned pillars, brass hinges and grills it is an impressive piece of furniture in its own right. The furniture styling is to coin a phrase 'very French'. I hope the photos are self-explanitory. The external cabinet is all original and in genuinely great condition. The flat shelf boards for the record storage are replacements and the horn has been repainted I presume. It's been done very professionally but it looks too 'fresh' to be ninety plus years old in my opinion even given the fact that it is protected by being enclosed. The soundbox and motor function perfectly and it comes complete with several Pathé records as shown in the photos. I have never seen another example of this machine at auction or in any collection or illustration except in the photocopy of the contempory Pathé sales catalogue which I illustrate here. By definition this gramophone is very rare. Transport will be quoted to anywhere in the world. I do my own crating for export. size 170 cm x 68 cm x 62 cm (depth)weight about 75 kilos.
