Description:

Inlaid mahogany Brillie electric master clock of the identical type formally used in the Eiffel Tower for transmitting signals to the Paris Observatory. A fine enamel dial with a centre sweep second hand is signed L. Leroy & Cie, Hzers de la Marine, Paris, 7, Bould. de la Madeleine. The finely finished one and a half volt electric movement mounted on a heavy white marble back plate for extra stability. Note the good quiality pendulum bob, horseshoe-shaped magnet and coil. The glazed inlaid case lifts off the back plate to allow access to the movement. Together with an astonishing (to me anyway) twenty-four Brillie slave clocks from the Ocean liner "Leviathan" in two sizes, four large and twenty small all powered by one and a half volts. The clocks have enamel dials (except one where the dial is glazed cardboard - original), are signed and have bevelled domed dial glass and conical brass cases. All are in working order. This collection can be used in any way subject only to the imagination of the 'designer' I have it set up in Edinburgh as "World Time" showing the current time in twenty-five major cities around the world. I have engraved brass plates with the name of each city below the relevent clock (not shown in the photos). Brillie Master and Slave clocks come in many levels of quality I believe these to be the finest. I personally doubt if such a collection can be duplicated again - where on earth (literally) does anyone find another twenty-four top quality slave clocks? I feel pretty confident that anyone buying these will own something unduplicated elsewhere. For better sharper photos please email me - I am limited on the image size I can use in practice on my web site. Transport will be quoted for delivery to any place on earth. I supply a 240 volt power pack which I built and use to run this whole collection from the mains electricity if anyone wishes to eliminate the need for batteries.
