Marconi Valve Heater Marconi Valve Heater 2 Marconi Valve Heater 3

Description:

Marconi petrol lighter made for heating the asbestos at the top of Marconi's first transmitting valves. The internal asbestos when heated absorbed part of any remaining gas inside the valves thereby increasing the vacuum and their efficiency. To light the flame the lighter is squeezed making the flint spark and setting fire to the wick as in a standard lighter. The unusual shape of the 'fire chamber' is to 'fit' round the valve and heat it on both sides at once. Price included delivery
