Description:

Large and magnificent Crookes' demonstration tube to show the heat produced by interrupting a stream of cathode rays on a platinum target, which glows red hot, placed midway between the cathode and the anode terminals. There is a small round hole in the platinum target, original? Or made deliberately to demonstrate that the apparatus could generate sufficient heat to melt platinum? This is quite a whopper and will require some very special packing by me to deliver it intact. (Early Technology offers an immediate refund on all breakages) Height 19" (48 cm) diameter of glass sphere 7.75" (19.5 cm). Transport at cost
