This is the first verge watch I have ever offered on this site. Perhaps it is gutless of me but I find it much easier to offer a 'clean' watch than to offer watches with faults i.e. wrong hands, cracked dials, damaged cases etc and try accurately to describe them so a potential customer isn't misled. Anyhow I feel fairly confident of this one so here goes. This is a verge watch signed J.Bush, London. He is recorded as working in 1820. The dial is clean uncracked (not repaired) with the original hands. There are some scratches on the watch glass - they show up very well in the photo! The case is gilded brass very clean on the inside some slight wear on the outside (barely noticeable). It is in excellent working order. I haven't tried to regulate it but it only gained about four minutes in twenty-four hours which isn't bad for a verge. The movement is in excellent condition original blueing on the screws no scratching or burring due to clumsy screwdriver work over the past 180 years! The gilded case is in good condition with no dents. The outer tortoiseshell case isn't perfect but isn't bad either some 'transparency' on the rear plus minor scratches and some of the gold pins may be replacements - but at least they are all there. the only real fault is that the button on the side is somewhat squoshed but it works properly for opening the case. Realistically this is about as good an example as one can recken to find of a verge watch which has been used.
