Wilson cloud chamber made by the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Co. England. Wilson invented his cloud chamber to make visible and track the paths of sub-atomic particles in 1912. The first prototype was constructed in the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge and is preserved in their museum. This rare commercial example has an integral vacuum pump. I have no idea how many were made and sold but surely very few. This is the first example i have ever seen for sale. English early twentieth century, base 8.75" (22 cm) x 7.75" (20 cm) height 10.5 (26 cm). This is a substantially built and heavy item transport at cost.
