Robertson Lighthouse Light Bulb
Exceptionally large early light bulb by Robertson, UK - see picture with a standard 60 watt light bulb. One single filament mounted in two loops. I have to believe it is a carbon filament but I have never seen such a thick one before - but then I have never seen anything like such a large early bulb previously. Apart from the name of the manufacturer Robertson the following is etched on the glass "230 500 K4" This is a 'normal' 230 volt 500 watts K4 type number. I believe that this is one of the first electric lighthouse light bulbs and I think it dates from the 1890s. It is easily the most amazing early light bulb that early technology hasever offered for sale. Size 14.25" (36 cm) long 6" (15.3 cm) diameter. Price includes delivery and insurance.
