Dendrometer by Dring & Fage
Fine Dendrometer (for measuring the diameter of trees) by Dring & Fage, Tooley Street, London. An instrument of this quality by a top London scientific instrument maker was probably only used on the top aristocratic estates owned by the landed gentry. The firm of Dring & Fage occupied various premises in Tooley Street from 1792-1882 but the lach of the designation 'Co' after the name would indicate a date of manufacture prior to 1850. This is only the second antique example I have ever seen, I am certain it is extremely rare! Overall length 37" (94 cm) Price includes delivery worldwide.
