Vertical Spectroscope by Jules Duboscq
Vertical spectroscope signed J Duboscq à Paris No 128, hopefully the photos are self-explanatory. The catalogue entry is from the Duboscq catalogue of 1868. The optical diagram is correct but at the base is a single black backed rotatable prism not the two separate components as shown. There is a variable slit externally and a small fixed prism at the end of the top arm. Original lacquer in fair condition condition otherwise good apart from a very small (4 mm) dent in the main tube. Height 14" (35.5 cm)
