Ivory hand Corkscrew

Early nineteenth century English corkscrew with English carved ivory hand. This is the finest corkscrew I've ever offered for sale. The hand carving is superb with correct fingernails plus cuticles quite unlike eastern carving. Note also the creases by the thumb just where they should be! It was a nightmare to photograph to bring out the detail. After much experimentation I found that a yellow light produced the detail on the ivory including the light wine(?)stains. The 'real' colour is shown in the last photo in daylight but the ivory reflects so much that the camera is unable to show any detail, It does however pick out the detail of the metal work! (Don't worry if the thumbnail shows a different image just click on it and the right one will appear. Hopefully between the three pictures you will get a good idea of this super item.6.25" (160 mm) long 4" (100 mm) wide. I do not think the eventual buyer will feel I have overcharged for this exquisite example, If I collected corkscrews this is the one I would go for. For buyers outside Europe I will need a couple of weeks to obtain a CITES certificate for export.
