Two long Victorian boxwood sliderules
Two boxwood sliderules by Dring & Fage 56 Stamford St.London with brass ends. The larger 24.5" has Sarking Lining & flooring stamped under the bottom scale, which is very complex, and is obviously a specialised rule for the building trade and is further stamped "designed by Jas. Liddell 3 George Street Falkirk. (Falkirk is a town in Scotland).
The second rule is 24" and appears to be a fairly standard rule. There is a small piece of wood missing at the top of the slide at the left end and an old repair in the same area, (shown close-up in one of the photos....where it actually looks worse than in 'real' life!).
Both rules probably date from about 1870
